Application for Concerto Competition
Rules
- The online application must be completed via this page.
- Each contestant must receive approval for their concerto selection prior to the competition from the Symphony Conductor. The conductor must determine if each selection is suitable for the Diamond Symphony's programming, and that the piece is within the abilities of the symphony members.
- Approval may be granted anytime prior to the competition, as early as one semester in advance.
- Contestants may perform 1-2 movements from a concerto, not to exceed a total of eight minutes.
- Performers must ascertain their own piano accompanist
- Performers may not win the competition two consecutive years
- Performers may not win the competition more than twice
- Two performers may be chosen as winner in the event of a tie.
- Two judges not associated with DYSO will participate with the Symphony Conductor serving as the third judge.
